Football Bundesliga club FC Augsburg gives its Venezuelan striker Sergio Cordova to Real Salt Lake City for a year in the US. “He wanted a change,” said coach Markus Weinzierl. The season in the Major League Soccer starts at the end of February. Cordova was changed from his homeland of Caracas FC to Augsburg in the summer of 2017, but he never became a regular player. Last season, the striker was borrowed at Arminia Bielefeld. This winter, the FCA striker Ricardo Pepi committed from FC Dallas for the record sales of 13 million euros. The 24-year-old Cordova has a contract in Augsburg until June 30th of June 2025. Salt Lake City had secured the right of first access to him years ago. The US investor David Blitzer, which is the shareholder at FC Augsburg, had recently taken over Real Salt Lake City.
