FC Ingolstadt has returned from the 2nd football league after only one season. In the away game at Karlsruher SC, the Schanzer did not go beyond a 2: 2 (1: 0) despite a 2-0 guidance. Since Dynamo Dresden also played 2: 2 at Fortuna Dusseldorf, the residue on the relegation rank 16 is no longer upgradable ten points.
Patrick Schmidt (24th, trading feet) and Filip Bilbija (46th) met for the guests, Fabian Schlussener (69th) and Philipp Hofmann (75th) secured the KSC the draw.
The Ingolstädter showed compared to the 0: 1 defeat against the SC Paderborn improved and made barely opportunities of the guests in the first round. In the middle of the first half, Bilbija flanked into the Karlsruhe penalty area, Daniel O’Shaghnessy got the ball to his hand.
Schmidt safely turned the penalty to 1: 0 (24th). In the second round, the guests caught the perfect start, Bilbija stood a rebound from a shortest distance in the net (46th).
KSC coach Christian Eichner was visibly dissatisfied with the performance of his team and moved four times in the 53rd minute. The hosts were now the better team, locker (69.) and Hofmann (75th) sealed their hits the descent of the guests. The KSC is thus finally secured.
